Sivaguru Charitable Trust and Sankaralingam
Bhuvaneswari Trust that were registered under
the Society Registration Act started the Sankaralingam
Bhuvaneswari College of Pharmacy in the year
1988. Shri.S.S.Sankaralingam,
the founder of the institution is a person gifted with a kind
of unquenchable thirst for introducing innovativeness is being
loved by one and all. He believes that service to mankind
is service to God and hence endowed with a far-sighted vision;
less wonder he started to forge ahead most of the others in
the industry to attain this noble cause of holding aloft the
ideals of education with all the fervour he had through these
charitable trusts. He firmly believes that education is a
potent instrument to improving the living standards of poor
people. His concern, among others, lies in advancement of
health and health care education, particularly among the economically
and socially depressed. With the kind of relentless efforts
the founder put in towards championing the cause of uplifting
the downtrodden, he founded this pharmacy college. Within
a short span of time, the institution displayed performance
of an exemplary sort, with all the aspirations and beliefs

world. Mr.S.Sriram Ashok,
B.E., the Correspondent of the college has taken a significant
lead in fielding professionals in area of pharmaceutical research
and development. Due to the awareness and rich potential of
this young man, the laboratories of the institution were modernized
with state-of-the-art equipments installed to facilitate such
research pursuits. The encouragement rendered by the correspondent
stands out as a sustainable force in developing research and

Mission: The mission of Sankaralingam Bhuvaneswari
College of Pharmacy is purported to strive for improving the
health care system throughout the world and to give access
of pharmaceutical care to the sick and needy. To achieve this
mission the students are being inculcated with a strong foundation
of knowledge essential to the pharmacy profession. While providing
highest quality instruction in pharmaceutical sciences, the
faculty introduces and develops the art of critical thinking,
problem solving and life long learning for posterity as would
make the young pharmacists healthy to stand the test of time.
The members of the faculty serve as role models, enthusing
students during their professional development. Thus, the
college assures to bring out dedicated, competent health care
professionals to serve the community in the best possible
ways.

Location:The Sankaralingam Bhuvaneswari College
of Pharmacy is located in a rural setting in a sprawling pollution
free campus spanning across 27 acres at village Anaikuttam,
which is 7 km away from Sivakasi. The place Anaikuttam is
on the State highways road connecting Virudhunagar and Sivakasi.
Virudhunagar is a commercial town that is well connected by
rail routes. The campus is accessible by road from Virudhunagar
which is 25 km away. Some 400 km by rail / road north of this
town is Chennai, capital of Tamil Nadu (Population: 60 million).
Likewise, about 50 km to the north of Sivakasi / Virudhunagar
is Madurai (The Temple City) which is connected with domestic
and international airlines. To the south ( 150 km) is Kanyakumari,
the famed international tourist attraction of India, which
could be reached by rail and road (National Highways 7).

Discipline:The college firmly believes
that education is incomplete without discipline, The institution
is confident in making a wholesome person out of the student
only by instilling in him discipline which would go to foster
a high degree of righteousness in and around him. Accordingly,
a disciplinary committee monitors the discipline of the institution.
Affliations &
ApprovalsThe Diploma in Pharmacy Course
was approved by Health Ministry's Health and Families Welfare
Department vide G.O.M.S.1631 dated 21-08-1987.
The B.Pharm course is approved by AICTE (All India Council
of Technical Education) New Delhi and recognised by PCI (Pharmacy
Council of India) New Delhi, in their Resolution No: 51/PCI/742
dated 11-12-90.
The Tamil Nadu Government approved the college vide G.OM.S
NO: 731 dated 06-07-1992 and affiliated it to the Tamil Nadu
Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.
